About Donghao Chong Museum

Donghaoyong Museum is located at the southern end of Yuexiu North Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It is the country's first urban water-themed museum. It was transformed from two old residential buildings during the Republic of China, covering an area of nearly 700 square meters. There are five exhibition halls in the museum, divided into four themes: "Tracing the Origin of Donghao", "Dreams of Donghao", "Crying of Donghao" and "New Chapter of Donghao". Through physical objects, pictures, projections and audio-visual means, the thousand-year history, culture and ecological management achievements of the river are systematically displayed. The pavilion is deeply integrated with the surrounding river landscape, forming a water-friendly space integrating cultural display and leisure functions. Donghaoyong was originally the moat of the ancient city of Guangzhou.
