About children's museum
Children’s Museum is a non-formal educational institution with interactive education as its core and designed specifically for children. It was pioneered by the Brooklyn Children’s Museum in December 1899. It aims to stimulate children’s curiosity through touchable scientific and historical exhibits and promote hands-on exploration, learning and communication. As of the beginning of the 21st century, more than 300 such venues have been established in the United States, mainly organized by national and local governments. Some small venues are supported by social figures or neighborhood organizations. 88% provide special education projects, with annual visits reaching 30 million people. The Shanghai Children's Museum is the country's first professional museum for children aged 3-10.
