About Su Manshu's former residence
Su Manshu's former residence is located in Sujia Lane, Lixi Community, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City. It was originally a bungalow with a blue brick civil structure built by Su Manshu's grandfather Su Ruiwen during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of about 40 square meters, including a porch, patio and main room. The former residence is where Su Manshu returned to his hometown from the age of 6 to 13 and studied at the Jian Ancestral Hall. It was listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Zhuhai City in 1986, and was upgraded to a cultural relics protection unit in Guangdong Province in 2008. It is now open to the public as an exhibition hall.
