About Yangxian Hall
Gaoqiao Yangxian Hall is located at the east end of the north side of Shengli Bridge in Gaoqiao Port, Gaoqiao Town, Pudong New District, Shanghai. The house covers an area of 750 square meters. It was built in the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931). The Gaoqiao Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall is now opened here. Gaoqiao Yangxian Hall faces north and faces south. It adopts a vertical multi-entry layout that is different from traditional local residences. The main part adopts a typical Shanghai old-fashioned Shiku foyer and wing layout. The main body is five bays, three bright and two dark. On the east, west and north sides of the main body, three additional annexes were added: a study, an annex building and a street-level house (partially destroyed).
