About Longmen Museum

Longmen Museum is a non-state-owned special museum located at the north entrance of Longmen Grottoes Scenic Area in Luoyang City, Henan Province. It was established in 2003 and officially opened to the public during the Peony Culture Festival in April 2013. In 2018, it was rated as a national second-level museum. Its main building is shaped like the base of a pagoda, integrating Buddhist culture and Heluo civilization elements. The building scale is more than 13,000 square meters, with a total of four floors of exhibition halls above and below ground, with the functions of cultural relic collection, protection, research and display.
