About Qingdao Marine Science Museum
Qingdao Marine Science and Technology Museum is located at No. 2 Laiyang Road, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It was formerly China's first independently designed aquarium built on May 8, 1932. As of the end of 2022, there are 20,001 pieces/sets of marine specimens and cultural relics. As a state-owned museum in other industries, the museum undertakes the functions of marine science popularization, scientific research, specimen management and cultural and creative development, holds permanent science popularization activities for teenagers and operates a marine online science popularization platform. In 2021, it was awarded the "Advanced Collective for National Science Literacy Work", in 2022, it was selected into the first batch of national science education bases, and in 2024, it was officially selected as the fifth batch of national first-level museums.
