About SHAOSHAN DRIPPING WATER CAVE
Shaoshan Dui Shui Cave, also known as “Liu Shui Cave,” is called “Western Mountain Cave” because Mao Zedong traveled there from the east. Located within the Dui Shui Cave Scenic Area in Shaoshan Village, Shaoshan Township, Shaoshan City, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, Dui Shui Cave is approximately 4 kilometers from the Mao Zedong Statue. It stretches about 2.8 kilometers in length and covers an area of over 100,000 square meters, forming a narrow, elongated valley surrounded by mountains on three sides. Originating in the Shaoshan Range of Nan Yue, the Dui Shui Cave flows for hundreds of miles, winding and curving northeastward from Shaofeng to form Longtou Mountain, Huangfeng Mountain, and Niu Xing Shan. These three mountains run in a single continuous line, tightly embracing the valley from east, west, and north like a clenched fist, creating a deep, winding, and narrow valley.
