About Sichuan Provincial Disaster Prevention and Reduction Education Center
The Sichuan Provincial Disaster Prevention and Reduction Education Center is a provincial-level public welfare science popularization venue built by the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to implement the national disaster prevention and reduction strategy. It is located at No. 260, Section 2, Wuyang Avenue, Wuhou District, Chengdu. The museum is a key post-disaster reconstruction project of the "5·12" Wenchuan Earthquake. It was officially opened on October 13, 2016, with a total investment of 144 million yuan, covering an area of 17.71 acres, a total construction area of 12,016 square meters, and an overall planned area of 7,000 square meters for the exhibition area. It is divided into a disaster experience area, a disaster awareness area, a disaster prevention area, a children's experience area and a temporary exhibition area.
