About Yao Tongbin's former residence
Yao Tongbin's former residence is located in Huangtutang Village, Donggang Town, Xishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. In 2002, it was listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province. The building was built in 1947 in the simple style of the Republic of China. It faces south and has three rooms and two entrances. It covers an area of 500 square meters. There are century-old osmanthus trees, ancient wells and inscriptions and inscriptions in the courtyard. There is an exhibition room of Yao Tongbin's life and deeds in the front hall of his former residence, which displays more than a hundred pictures, objects and a bronze bust created by Qian Shaowu, as well as the results of more than 500 rocket material research projects he presided over.
