About Hui mountain spring

Hui Mountain Spring (English name: Hui Mountain Spring) is located within Xijiao of Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, and is a national AAAA-level scenic area. It is open to the public free of charge from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM every day. The spring was dug by Jing Cheng, the magistrate of Wuxi during the Tang Dynasty, between 766 and 777. It is divided into three pools—upper, middle, and lower—and the upper pool is octagonal in shape. The water is sweet and refreshing, rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium. During the Yuan Dynasty, Zhao Mengfu inscribed the phrase “The Second Best Spring Under Heaven” and composed a poem, which he carved on the back wall of the spring pavilion. When the Qianlong Emperor toured the south during his southern tour, he also praised the spring after tasting it, calling it “The Second Best Spring Under Heaven.
