About Sericulture Museum
The former site of Xizhang Silkworm Breeding Farm is located in Huishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. It is the eighth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. The silkworm breeding farm, formerly known as the "Sanwuguan" silkworm breeding factory, was founded in 1926 by Lu Zirong. It is one of the oldest silkworm breeding farms in Jiangsu Province and has witnessed the development of the sericulture industry in Jiangsu and Zhejiang from traditional family sericulture and workshop sericulture to industrial development. In 2008, the old site was announced as an industrial heritage of Wuxi City. It was closed down in 2013 and was later rebuilt into the Jiangnan Sericulture Museum (also known as the Xizhang Sericulture Exhibition Hall), located in Xizhang Park.
