About Myanmar Treasure Museum
The Gems Museum is a museum run by the Myanmar government. It is located at 66 Kaba Aya Pagoda Road, Yangon, Myanmar, adjacent to the World Peace Pagoda. It is a favorite place for jewelry lovers. It collects Myanmar’s national treasures of jewelry and jade, including rubies and sapphires, and holds annual jewelry fairs and jade auctions. There is an area in the museum that introduces the grades and classifications of jade. There are 82 gem shops on the third floor of the building selling high-quality pure natural gemstones and products. The museum collection includes 33 tons of Laokeng glass jade, which is displayed between the south and north buildings. The Myanmar government used a large number of officers and soldiers to transport it here over several months. Opening hours are 09:30-16:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, closed on Mondays. Tickets are $5.
