About Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Music Stage

The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Music Stage is located in the southeast of Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Square, in the Zijinshan Scenic Area of Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Designed by Guan Songsheng and Yang Tingbao, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Music Stage began construction in the autumn of the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932) and was completed in August 1933. It serves as an ancillary facility for Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and is a provincial-level cultural heritage site in Jiangsu Province. The music stage covers an area of approximately 4,200 square meters, with a semi-circular plan featuring a radius of 56.9 meters. The stepped structure of the semicircle forms a natural sound amplifier, while a stage is constructed at the center of the circle. The back of the stage features a large arched screen that collects sound waves, and the top is adorned with carved dragon motifs.
