About Liu Wenhui Mansion Yanqing Garden
Liu Wenhui Mansion Yanqing Garden is located about 100 meters southwest of the intersection of Antique Street and Min'an Street in Dayi County, Chengdu (Anren Ancient Town). It was first built in 1938 and completed in 1942. It covers an area of more than 40 acres and has a construction area of 8,626 square meters. The building adopts a combination of Chinese and Western styles, with a symmetrical layout forming two independent "twin" mansions. Both have a three-courtyard layout. The main gate is in European Gothic style, and facilities such as a moon-watching pavilion and a stage are retained inside. The mansion was the former residence of Liu Wenhui, commander of the 24th Army during the Republic of China. In 1949, he joined forces with Deng Xihou and Pan Wenhua to promote the peaceful liberation of Chengdu.
