About Former Residence of Zhao Taiyi

The former residence of Zhao Taiqi is located at No. 7 Longjiang Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, at the southern foot of Signal Mountain. It is a European pastoral style (country villa style) villa built in the 1920s (some say 1935). It is now a cultural relic protection unit in Shinan District. This building was once the residence of Zhao Taitou, the president of National Shandong University and drama educator. In December 1933, Zhao Taitou married Yu Shan, a famous dramatist, and the two settled here after their marriage. The former residence will be officially opened to the public in May 2022, and is now operated by Shinan District Historic District Construction and Operation Center and other units.
