About Suzhou Archaeological Museum

Suzhou Archaeological Museum is a special archaeological museum located at No. 321, Yuedi Road, Gusu District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the northeast of the Yuecheng Site in Shangfangshan Shihu Scenic Area. As Jiangsu's first archaeological subject museum, it covers an area of about 10,000 square meters and has a total construction area of 8,972.53 square meters. The overall building is a polygonal geometric block. It was designed by Cheng Taining, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The "stone adze" and "yue" unearthed from the Yuecheng site were used as prototypes, and a triangular block structure was used to present a landscape-style site design. The museum systematically displays the development process of Suzhou regional civilization from the late Paleolithic Age to modern times on Sanshan Island.
