About Shaoxing Museum New Building
The new Shaoxing Museum is a comprehensive museum located at No. 566 Jiefang Avenue, Jinghu New District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province (the intersection of Jiefang Avenue and Qunxian Road, Doumen Street, Yuecheng District). The museum will officially open on February 9, 2026, and will open simultaneously with the Shaoxing Art Museum. The building is built with the shape of Kuaiji Mountain as its roof and the remaining walls of the ancient city as its walls, with a construction area of approximately 29,500 square meters. The exhibition design plan won the gold medal in the cultural space category of the 18th Canadian GPD Design Awards. The museum has 7 basic exhibition halls, 2 thematic halls, 5 temporary exhibition halls and 1 digital hall, as well as public areas such as youth activity areas and themed cultural and creative spaces.
