About Jinzhong Mountain Scenic Area

Jinzhong Mountain Scenic Area is located on the south side of Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. It is named because the mountain resembles an iron bell. According to folklore, Emperor Wenchang evolved from the iron cauldron to suppress the evil dragon. The scenic spot covers the Wenchang Palace building complex, 719 stone steps and 88 platforms. On the top of the mountain is the stele of "Dengfeng Zhizhi" erected in the fourth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1854). The core landscape "Golden Bell Sunset" is one of the ten scenic spots in Huize. In the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty (1727), Huang Shijie, the prefect of Dongchuan, began to build the Wenchang Palace, which included Taoist buildings such as the Kui Pavilion and the stage, forming the tradition of mountain tours on the second day of the second lunar month.
