About Guilin Zoo
Guilin Zoo is located at the back of Camel Mountain in Guilin Seven Star Park. It is the only professional zoo in Guilin. Guilin Zoo was founded in 1958, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, and was officially opened to the public on June 1, 1960. In 2009, the zoo was rebuilt in Qixing Park and moved to the east foot of Mount Putuo. The new park is still in Qixing Park, covering an area of more than 120 acres, four times that of the old park. When fully completed, there will be 20 venues. The entire park is divided into eight functional areas including the central square area and children's play area. There are nearly a hundred animal species on display in the park, including Siberian tigers, African lions, gibbons, pythons, etc., and a variety of subtropical plants are planted, showing the unique style of the southern subtropics. The zoo is open year-round from 08:00-18:00.
