About Panda Park
The Shenshuping Base of the Chinese Giant Panda Garden in Wolong, Sichuan is a giant panda breeding and protection base rebuilt by the China Giant Panda Research and Conservation Center after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. It was built with assistance from the Hong Kong SAR government. The base is located in Gengda Town, Wolong National Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province, covering an area of about 150 hectares. It was officially opened on May 11, 2016, and implements a permanent free admission policy for Hong Kong citizens. There are dozens of giant pandas in the base, and 19 newborn cubs were bred in 2017. In 2021, the twin giant pandas "Dong Qia" and "Bai Ji" were selected as the image representatives of Aba Prefecture; in 2023, the giant panda "Xinxin" gave birth to the first captive cub here.
