About Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is located at No. 1375 Panda Avenue, Chenghua District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, 10 kilometers from the city center and more than 30 kilometers from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The total area of the base is 3,570 acres, of which the expansion area is 2,535 acres. It is a world-famous giant panda ex-situ conservation base, scientific research and breeding base, public education base and educational tourism base. The base covers an area of 1,000 acres. The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base was established on the basis of raising, treating, and breeding giant pandas in Chengdu Zoo. In 1997, an open laboratory was established. In 2019, the base received more than 9 million Chinese and foreign tourists.
