About Daqingshan Wildlife Zoo

Hohhot Zoo is located at the southern foot of Daqing Mountain in the northern suburb of Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is adjacent to the Hohhot-Baotou Expressway to the south, Huwu Highway to the west, and Hongshankou to the east. It covers an area of 12,300 acres and has a greening rate of 86%. The park was formerly known as Longquan Park, which was founded in 1931. It was renamed People's Park in 1951. A zoo was added in 1953. Project planning and construction were completed in 2005. In 2006, the construction of roads and public buildings in the park was completed and initially opened. After the greening project was completed in 2007, it was fully put into use. In 2022, it was renamed Daqingshan Wildlife Park. It is now a comprehensive theme park integrating animal domestication and breeding, science education, and tourism.
