About Zhou Enlai statue

The statue of Zhou Enlai is located in the ancestral residence of Zhou Enlai (formerly known as Xiyang Hall) at the east end of Laodong Road, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The building was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the Zhou family of Baoyouqiao moved to Shaoxing City. In the 37th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1698), Zhou Maozhang's wife Wang was awarded the plaque "Gate of a Centenary Mother", so it was also called the "Centenary Hall". This was originally the place where Zhou Enlai's ancestors lived, and later his grandfather moved to Huai'an, Jiangsu Province. During his lifetime, Zhou Enlai always disagreed with the renovation and opening of his ancestral home to the outside world.
