About Taipingding

Taipingding is located in the northwest of Yangping Town, Yuan'an County, Hubei Province, with an altitude of 1,325.1 meters, making it the highest peak in the county. The mountain is composed of quartz minerals, forming a steep bedding structure, with a forest coverage rate of 99%. Rare tree species such as whitebark pine and Bashan pine are distributed, as well as medicinal materials such as Coptis chinensis and Gastrodia elata. The top of the mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, and the concentration of negative oxygen ions reaches 10,000 per cubic centimeter. It has the characteristics of "high mountains and high waters". The mountain was known as the "Hundred Wells Fairy Mountain" in history. It has the remains of 99 ancient wells. It was once a holy place for Buddhism and Taoism, and there are ruins such as old temples and Taiping Temple.
