About Town North Fort Western Film Studio
Yinchuan Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio (Yinchuan), often referred to as Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio, is a tourist attraction located within the jurisdiction of Zhenbeipu Town in Xixia District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Founded in 1993 by contemporary Chinese writer Zhang Xianliang, Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio was originally established on the site of a border defense castle from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Among China’s many film and television studios, Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio is distinguished by its rustic, pristine, rugged, desolate, and deeply folk-inspired character—making it one of China’s three major film and television studios. Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio is composed of three distinct sections: Qingcheng, Mingcheng, and Old Yinchuan Street.
