About shuidonggou
The Shuidonggou Scenic Area in Yinchuan City, often referred to as the Shuidonggou Tourist Area, is a tourist attraction located within the jurisdiction of Linhe Town, Lingwu City, Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The scenic area covers an area of 7.8 square kilometers. The Shuidonggou Site is one of the earliest Paleolithic archaeological sites ever excavated in China and is renowned as the “birthplace of prehistoric archaeology in China” and a “historical testament to cultural exchanges between China and the West.” It is also designated as a key national cultural relic protection unit in the third batch. The Shuidonggou Site preserves a historical record of ancient humans’ thriving lives and their relentless struggle against nature, holding rich and valuable prehistoric artifacts.
