About Zhaobao Mountain Scenic Area
Zhaobao Mountain Scenic Area is one of the ten major scenic areas in Ningbo City. Located at the mouth of the Yongjiang River in Zhenhai District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, it is 18 kilometers from downtown Ningbo and combines natural scenery, cultural landmarks, religious culture, and maritime defense sites. It serves as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and an important component of the Zhenhai Port Maritime Defense Site. Situated at the throat of the Yongjiang River, Zhaobao Mountain has long been a key maritime defense stronghold, famously known as the “Gateway to Eastern Zhejiang.” Today, remnants of military battles such as Weiyuan Fortress and Anyuan Battery still stand, forming a rare collection of historical sites spanning four major periods of resistance against foreign invaders in China.
