About Taixu palace
Tai Xu Palace was initiated and constructed in 1191 AD by Qiu Chuji, the founder of the Quanzhen Longmen School of Taoism. Emperor Jin Zhangzong bestowed upon it the plaque “Tai Xu Guan,” which locals commonly refer to as “Bindu Palace.” Located at the foot of Ping Shan in the northern part of Qixia City, Yantai City, Shandong Province, on the shores of Changchun Lake, Tai Xu Palace sits nestled between mountains and water. Historically, Tai Xu Palace was hailed as the “Crown of Eastern Daoist Forests.” Restoration work began on the original site in 1995, and the palace was approved as a venue for religious activities in 2003. It officially opened to the public in 2007 and was designated as a National AAAA-level Tourist Scenic Area in 2017. The scenic area features the “Dao”-shaped main gate and the largest Sanqing Hall in China.
