About Weiyang Palace National Archaeological Site Park
Hancheng’s Weiyang Palace National Archaeological Site Park is one of the third batch of National Archaeological Site Parks, approved on December 2, 2017. In March 2022, construction began on the second-phase upgrade project, which focuses primarily on environmental improvement and landscape greening, covering an area of 2.91 square kilometers. The project includes systematic works such as road and walking path renovations and infrastructure enhancements, while also emphasizing the aesthetic enhancement of farmland landscapes. In July 2024, the park was designated as a National 3A-level Tourist Scenic Area. During the May Day holiday in 2026, the park welcomed a large number of visitors who enjoyed flower viewing amidst seas of rose bushes and hidden gems of daisies. In June, vast expanses of daylily flowers and cornflowers bloomed in succession throughout the park.
