About Suzhou Garden Museum
The Suzhou Garden Museum was first located in the residential area of the Humble Administrator's Garden. It was completed and opened in the autumn of 1992. It is the first garden museum in China. The museum is located at No. 202 Northeast Street, Gusu District. It is open to tourists free of charge. It is open from 9:00 to 16:30 every Tuesday to Sunday (admission ends at 16:00). It is closed on Mondays (except statutory holidays). The new Suzhou Garden Museum is located on the west side of the Humble Administrator's Garden. It was built in October 2005 and has a construction area of 3,390 square meters. A new one-story building was built on the basis of the original two-story building. On December 4, 2007, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Suzhou Classical Gardens being included in the World Heritage List, the new museum was completed and opened.
