About Hanyuan Hall
Hanyuan Hall is the main hall of the Daming Palace in Chang'an City, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. It is a world cultural heritage and a landmark building of Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty. It was built in the third year of Longshuo (663) and destroyed in the second year of Emperor Xizong's Guangqi (886). During the New Year's Day and Winter Solstice, the emperor mostly held dynastic celebrations here. The Hanyuan Hall is a three-tiered palace structure. The hall sits on a triple high platform. The platform base is 15 meters high, 77 meters long from east to west, and 43 meters wide from north to south. The total span is approximately 200 meters similar to that of Danfeng Gate. There is a water channel in front of the palace, and there are five bridges on the channel.
