About Li Zongren's official residence
Li Zongren's official residence is one of the two best-preserved former residences of celebrities in Guilin. It is located on the south bank of Shanhu Lake, No. 16 Wenming Road, Xiangshan District, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was built in 1948 and covers an area of more than 4,000 square meters. This mansion, known as Guilin's "Presidential Palace" by later generations, is a villa-style building complex that combines Chinese and Western styles. Its layout changed from the traditional north-south direction and faces west to east. With the majestic main building as the center, it is surrounded by adjutant buildings, guard rooms, gardens, parking areas and other facilities. The main building is a two-story building with brick and wood structure. The original walls and ancillary facilities are well preserved.
