About Mapan Drum Tower
Ma Pang Drum Tower is located in Ma Pang Village, Bajiang Township, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was built in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928) and is one of the larger drum towers in Sanjiang. Ma Pang Drum Tower is a palace-style tower-shaped wooden structure built with mortise and tenon joints. The drum tower is divided into two parts: the body and the roof. The body is surrounded by wooden boards and railings. There are thick wooden benches and platforms inside the building. There is a fire pit in the center of the building. It is about 20 meters high and 11 meters wide at the base, with a total of 9 floors, with overhanging eaves. The eaves are painted with ethnic patterns. There is a long drum inside the building. The main hall board wall depicts the beautiful scenery of Dong countryside.
