About LiShan Shun King Temple
Lishan Shun Temple is located in the west of Lishan Temple Village, Yanshi Town, Juancheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province. It is a temple built to commemorate the ancient sage Emperor Shun (surnamed Yao, given name Chonghua) in Lishan, where he worked hard to cultivate. According to documentary records, the temple was first built in the Spring and Autumn Period. During the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the temple began to be built and monuments were built. It was restored in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Northern Wei, Tang, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The Lishan ancient site where the temple is located was discovered during the cultural relics survey in 1980. The cultural layer includes remains from the Longshan Culture to the Han Dynasty. The site was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in 2006.
