About Baicao Garden
Baicao Garden is located in the former residence of Lu Xun at Xintai Gate, Dongchangfangkou, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It covers an area of about 2,000 square meters and was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Baicao Garden was originally a vegetable garden shared by a dozen families with the Zhou surname in Xintaimen. They usually grew some melons and vegetables and used them to dry grain after autumn. It was Lu Xun's childhood paradise. The original display of the Baicao Garden is based on Lu Xun's beautiful article "From the Baicao Garden to the Sanwei Bookstore". The interesting "short mud wall roots" still remain, and a boundary monument still embedded at the southern end of the low wall, with the word "Liang Jie" clearly visible.
