About Dragon Bridge

Yulong Bridge is located in Yulong Village, Baisha Town, Yangshuo County, Guilin City, Guangxi. It spans the Yulong River. It was first built in the 10th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1412). It is a rainbow-style single-arch stone bridge, using staggered stone joints and dry-laying technology. It is 36 meters long, 4.2 meters wide and 9 meters high. It is the largest existing single-hole stone bridge in Guangxi. The bridge body has been well preserved after hundreds of years of wind and rain, and the 1944 villagers' anti-Japanese victory monument is still on the bridge deck. The bridge is the filming location of the movie "Liu Sanjie" and is a key cultural relic in Yangshuo. The name of the bridge comes from a legend in the Ming Dynasty: a scholar who was rushing to take an exam was blocked by a heavy rain and was helped by a dragon to cross the river.
