About Moon Pagoda
The Moon Pagoda, also known as the Shizhu Pagoda, Faji Pagoda and Sister-in-law Pagoda, is located in Yue Pagoda Village, Tangji, Lianshui County, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province. It was built in the early Tang Dynasty. In the late Republic of China, people noticed that half a floor was missing from the top of the tower. It was in disrepair and part of the bottom floor was missing. However, it seemed to have survived with divine help. It looked like a crescent moon from a distance, so it was called the "Moon Tower." The Moon Pagoda is a brick imitation pavilion-style tower with an octagonal plane, 16 meters high, and a bottom floor width of 1.83 meters. There is a base about 0.45 meters high on the ground. The tower is small and slender. It was originally seven levels, but the top collapsed and six levels remain. The moon pagoda has a unique art form of imitation wood.
