About five-hole bridge
The Five-hole Bridge is located in Maozhuang Village, Xuzhuang Town, Tongshan District. It is said that it was built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. General Yuchi Jingde passed by and built the bridge. It was named "Five-hole Bridge" because of the five-arch structure of the original bridge. In 1956, due to the construction of Wukongqiao Reservoir, the remains of the original bridge were moved to the current site and rebuilt. In 1977, it was converted into a single-hole arch bridge, with eight small coupons on each side of the main arch. The bridge deck guardrails were engraved with the slogan "Hard work, self-reliance", and the bridge body was engraved with the words "A chasm becomes a thoroughfare" and a five-star pattern. The bridge has been built in the Tang Dynasty, moved in modern times and modern reconstruction.
