About Xiaoyao Tower
Xiaoyao Tower is located on Binjiang Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin City, Guangxi. It is a two-story, three-eaves pavilion-style landscape building. It was built in the fourth year of Wude (621) in the Tang Dynasty by Li Jing, the chief administrator of Guizhou. It was named after Zhuangzi's "Xiaoyaoyou". You can get a bird's eye view of the peaks of Lishui River by climbing up the tower. In January 2015, the relevant departments of Guilin City started the reconstruction of Xiaoyao Building. It was completed and opened in April 2016. It is a two-story, three-eaves pavilion-style landscape building with a total height of 23.6 meters and a construction area of 630 square meters. Xiaoyao Tower went through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and was destroyed and rebuilt many times.
