About Yanshan Garden
Yanshan Garden is a private garden built in 1869 by Tang Yue, a gentry in Guilin, Guangxi during the Qing Dynasty, based on the artistic conception of "The wild geese are flying, sober their feathers" in The Book of Songs. It was originally called "Yanshan Garden Villa". In 1911, it was purchased by Cen Chunxuan, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, and then renamed "Yanshan Park". The garden is located on the east side of Yanshan Town, Yanshan District, Guilin City, covering an area of 300 acres. It is characterized by real mountains and real waters. It integrates the "beautiful, beautiful, strange and unique" of Guilin's landscape. It is known as "the epitome of Guilin" and "the first garden in Lingnan" , its landscape pattern conforms to the concept of traditional Chinese garden construction. The Xiangsi River passes through the garden to form a unique hydrological landscape.
