About Stone carvings of Yongning Mausoleum of Emperor Chen Wen and Chen Qian

The stone carvings of the Yongning Mausoleum of Emperor Chen Wen and Chen Qian are located in Shizichong, Xinhe Village, Qixia Street, Qixia District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. They are the remains of the stone carvings of the mausoleums of the Southern Dynasties in Nanjing. In 1988, they were listed as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units. There are a pair of existing stone beasts, with the double-horned Tianlu (3.11 meters long and 3.00 meters high) on the east side and the one-horned Qilin (3.19 meters long and 3.13 meters high) on the west side. They are slender and decorated with curling cloud patterns and double-winged quill-like reliefs, reflecting the artistic style of stone carvings in the Southern Dynasties transitioning from majestic to light. The owner of this stone tomb is controversial.
