About Lu Xuangong Temple
Lu Xuangong Ancestral Hall is located at No. 15 Xiuzhang Street (formerly No. 43 Huishan Zhi Street), Huishan Ancient Town, Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. It was built to commemorate Lu Zhi, a famous prime minister in the Tang Dynasty. It is one of the six prime ministers’ ancestral halls in the Huishan Ancient Town Ancestral Hall Group. It is now part of the Huishan Ancestral Hall Group, a national key cultural relic protection unit. The temple was first built in the fifth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1135) by Lu Zhi, a descendant of Lu Zhi. It was destroyed in the late Ming Dynasty and rebuilt by order in the 47th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1708). After renovation in 2010, the original appearance of the Qing Dynasty building was restored. The existing building faces south and has a brick-and-wood structure.
