About China Cat Museum
The Chinese Cat Museum is an animal exhibition hall in Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo. The museum was planned and rebuilt on the site of the original Lynx Museum at the end of 2018, completed in December 2019, and officially opened to the public in October 2020. The venue is located in the Dahongshan area of the zoo and mainly displays Chinese native cats such as North China leopards, Eurasian lynxes and ocelots. In 2021, the pavilion was included in ZooLex, a professional zoo design platform officially certified by the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), becoming the first zoo exhibition area in mainland China to be included. The venue design makes full use of the mountainous terrain and is committed to restoring the wild habitat of cats by combining rocks, simulating caves, and planting coniferous forests.
