About Huiqian Village Ruins
The Huiqian Village site is located in Zhongshan Park, Qingdao City. It is the earliest Ming Dynasty immigrant village site in Qingdao city. It was first built in the Tianshun reign of Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty (1457). Brothers Wang Long and Wang Hu moved from Yunnan to the southwest slope village of Taiping Mountain and built a family temple "Ming Xiutang". The villagers made a living by fishing. After Germany occupied Jiaozhou Bay in 1898, it expropriated the entire village's land from 1902 to 1905 and transformed it into a "Forest Park" (the predecessor of today's Zhongshan Park). The villagers moved to Fushansuo, Shalingzhuang and other places. In 1938, a Ming Dynasty stone tablet was unearthed to confirm the village's history.
