About Kuixing Building

Kuixing Tower, also known as Kuixing Pavilion, is a sacrificial place in traditional Chinese architecture dedicated to Kuixing, the god of imperial examinations. Its image is usually a green face with fangs, red hair and eyes, a head with two horns, a vermilion pen in the right hand, an ink fountain in the left hand, a golden rooster on the right foot stepping on the head independently, and a left foot leaning back and hooking. The overall shape echoes the structure of the word "Kui", and the feet are decorated with the Big Dipper. There are permanent exhibitions of imperial examination culture in the building, such as the Four Treasures of the Study, murals of stories of encouraging students to learn, etc. The ground floor of some buildings is connected to the street on all sides, with an octagonal plane and a helmet-roofed pavilion style.
