About Venice
Venice is a famous tourist and industrial city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region (Veneto Region). Venice was once the center of the Venetian Republic and was known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". The Crusades also gathered here, making it one of the most romantic cities in the world. The urban area of Venice covers 118 artificial islands and an adjacent artificial peninsula in the Venetian Lagoon on the Adriatic coast of northeastern Italy, and is crisscrossed by 117 waterways. This saltwater lagoon stretches along the coastline between the Po and Piave rivers. In 1987, it was included in the World Heritage List. Venice's architecture, paintings, sculptures, operas, etc. have an extremely important position and influence in the world. Venice has the reputation of "born by water, beautiful by water, and prosperous by water".
