About Zeng Embarkment

Zengdi Yingshui is one of the eight new scenic spots in Minghu Lake. It is located on the east bank of Daming Lake in Jinan's No. 1 Spring Scenic Area, connecting Nanfeng Bridge and Nanfeng Temple, covering an area of 19,950 square meters. On both sides of the embankment, there are willows hanging down, flowers fragrant, and waves lingering on the lake, forming a unique hydrological landscape. The embankment was first built in the Song Dynasty. It was built by the writer Zeng Gong when he was the magistrate of Qizhou. It was originally called Baihua Embankment and was later renamed Zeng Embankment in memory of Zeng Gong. In the fourth year of Song Xining's reign (1071), Zeng Gong presided over the management of Jinan's water system. He adjusted the water level of Daming Lake by building Beishui Gate and other water conservancy facilities, eliminating floods in the north of the city.
