About Tiegong Pavilion

Tiegong Temple is located at the west end of the north bank of Daming Lake in Jinan City, Shandong Province. It is an ancestral hall built in memory of Tie Xuan, Minister of War in the Ming Dynasty. The building complex was rebuilt in the 57th year of Qianlong's reign (1792) by Alin Bao, the salt transport envoy from Shandong in the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and forms a courtyard-style architectural pattern, including the ancestral hall, Xiao Canglang Pavilion, Deyue Pavilion, lakeside promenade and other buildings. It covers an area of 6386 square meters and forms a garden within a garden surrounded by winding corridors. There is a bronze statue of Tie Xuan in the temple, which is 2.3 meters high and weighs 1.8 tons. It is made of antique bronze. The figure is dressed in Ming Dynasty civil official costumes.
