About Yongmulu
Yongmulu is located on the top of Xiaomao Mountain in the northeast of Zhongshan Mausoleum in Zijin Mountain, Xuanwu District, Nanjing City. It is an auxiliary building built in the spring of 1929 for Sun Yat-sen's relatives to keep vigil. The building was designed by Chen Junpei and constructed by Xinjinjikanghao Construction Factory. It adopts an oriental style and has a living room, four bedrooms and ancillary rooms. Yongmulu was destroyed during the Anti-Japanese War, and only the stone lintel inscribed by Tan Yankai remained. The existing building was restored to its original appearance and opened to the public in 1995. After protective restoration in 2013, a photo display of the tomb scene was added. Since 2016, it has become the permanent residence of Qunxue Academy and Bancheng Reading.
