About Jianghan Guild Hall

Jianghan Guild Hall, located at No. 114, Luosuoqiao Street, Shangxinhe, Xinglong Street, Jianye District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province (on the campus of Shangxinhe Junior High School of Zhonghua Middle School), also known as Jianghan Hall, is a Nanjing municipal cultural relic protection unit. The building was built by timber merchant gangs from Hubei, Jiangxi and other places from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. It was originally a meeting place for timber merchants on the south side of the Yangtze River and Jiajiang River, and was later converted into Shangxinhe Primary School. It was closed after the Japanese invasion of Nanjing. In 1983, it was announced as a district-level cultural relics protection unit. The building is of brick and wood structure, facing south. It was originally a four-entry courtyard, but now has two entrances and two wings.
